From an early age I knew one thing: I did not want to work for a big, "thankless" company. My parents grew-up during the great depression. Their advice to me was to get a good education, get a job with a company that would take care of me and plan to retire from that company. They both did just that. Which to me was rather amazing given the fact that both of my grandfather's were entrepreneur's. Their success in life came through their own efforts and energies and belonging to a large company or even having a pension was out of their realm of thinking.

 

I suspect I taake after them. There is nothing more satisfying in life than hunting, gathering, cultivating and bringing in the win. Working within a corporate structure and succeeding has never been nearly as satisfying as when I knew if I did not "bag" the kill, I did not eat.

 

I guess that explains why at age 23 I dropped out of college and set off for a life as a professional salesman. Some of the most successful people I knew were in sales and they still are. Prospecting, cultivating relationships, learning of customer needs and designing a fit for those needs generates a thrill second to none for me and others like me.

 

I ultimately found myself in Network Marketing, where you are compensated for what you can generate, including the people that you bring on your team and their efforts. You are not working by yourself, you own no inventory, your overhead is virtual and you get to choose who you work with and where you work from.

 

I love that freedom. For the present season of my life I am content to serve others seeking to live this life through my work as Vice President of Sales at a US based MLM. In fulfilling my responsibilities to a growing field of independent associates, I have generated volumes of ideas, content, training and presentations. Why not share them with a larger circle of like minded people and expand my reach?

 

Within this site I will introduce you to those mentors, teachings, trainers and thought leaders that have altered and improved my life. That was the orignal idea behind the name The Mentors Toolbox. It would be a toolbox filled with the tools a budding networker would need, or even guidance for the more mature leader that has lost their way and needs a nudge.,
