Network Marketing is part of the Direct Selling Industry and is known by several names, including Multi-Level Marketing, Direct Marketing and Person to Person Marketing. The methods of compensation in this industry are based on essentially 3 plans, Multi-Level, Party-Plan and Affiliate.
Depending on which company you choose to join, you will likely be part of one of the above mentioned plans. Each type of marketing or compensation plan will vary by company. It is, after all, a key differentiator and selling point for the company. Uniqueness is important. There is no one size fits all, which is good and bad.
It is good because when you prospect for new team members, you can highlight the advantages your plan may have over another and it is bad because if you choose to change companies, you will need to learn their system and plan. But the basics are there, so the more exposure you have to marketing plans, the better equipped you are to teach and train others how to maximize the earning potential of your plan.
